BALANCING FIGURE FOUR

I hope you were able to try the class I sent you 2 days ago. Were you able to figure out the actions that were repeated throughout class in order to help you access the peak pose of balancing figure 4? 

Throughout the class I mentioned the term Facilitated Stretch. Have you heard of that before? A facilitated stretch is when we activate the muscles that we are lengthening. We did this throughout class to help us find more space to try on the pose balancing figure 4. We also had the opportunity to do the pose twice - once without a facilitated stretch and once with a facilitated stretch. 

The video below is the part of class where we worked on the peak pose of balancing figure 4. Try it again with me and see if you can really deepen your connection of pressing your hand into your thigh and your thigh pushing back up into your hand. Notice the sensations between sides. Use this as a space of exploration on your mat to learn more about your physical experience in the practice.
