Hi, I'm Heidi.
I know how intimidating it can feel to enter a yoga studio and wonder if you belong. Over the past two decades, I've often felt out of place and unworthy of the practice. Many students share this struggle, feeling that yoga isn't accessible or doesn't meet them where they are. My mission is to ensure that everyone who wants to practice yoga can find a way to access it. While the practice may not always be easy, I aim to help you feel good about where you are and your relationship to the moment.
I am a seasoned E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance certified instructor and Yoga Teacher Trainer with over 25 years of yoga experience. As the owner of The Yoga Barn, home of classes with Heidi Kassner, a published author, and host of the Theme Weavers Podcast for yoga teachers, my mission is to empower you to gain fresh insights into your body during each class while fostering self-reflection.
In my classes, I encourage you to experience and reflect, making choices that suit your unique needs. Beyond the studio, I lead Yoga Teacher Trainings and serve as a Lead Teacher in the global Chromatic Yoga Community.
My personal yoga journey has made me stronger, more flexible, and fearless, inspiring me to live each moment with intention and connection. I emphasize the connection between breath and movement, intelligent biomechanics, and self-awareness. My background in Clinical Social Work adds a unique dimension to my teaching, helping you leave the mat feeling refreshed, nourished, and balanced.
