Join me on a deep dive into the chakra system and learn the skills to become aware of your chakras and the tools to help heal what you uncover. The word chakra is a Sanskrit word that means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centers in your body. These wheels/disks of energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs in your body. To function at their best, your chakras need to stay open and balanced. If they get blocked or overactive, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra. There are 7 main chakras that run along your spine that start at the root/base of your spine and extend to the crown of your head. As you may realize, yoga is much more than just the physical poses (asanas) that we practice in class. There are layers of philosophy to help us live lives that are balanced, peaceful, and connected. Understanding and working with our chakra system is one of the ways we use yoga as a tool to help support us in our quest for self-knowledge and healing. What to expect: - 100+ page pdf manual to guide our work as a group and as individuals - Quizzes on each individual chakra to see how it is functioning - Dive deeper into individual chakras each week and learn: mantra/sayings mudra/hand positions meditations yoga poses colors, crystals, essential oils, etc. questions/prompts for self-inquiry - Take home activities This series includes 5 sessions, pdf book, and materials to create your own chakra mala bracelet at our final session. If you are unable to attend each session please realize you will have all the materials to learn about that session on your own, and Heidi will provide you with the tools to create your mala at your convenience! Each session will meet at Heidi's home.
